In the previous books, even though the story is not focused on these two you know they are about to start a storm. And that's exactly what they did. They took the Mafia lifestyle and added even more danger to it. Is that Possible? If it was another couple I would say No. But it's GIANNA and MATTEO... like, they are batshit Cray Cray. And I loved them for it.
This story was so much fun. I do not share the personality portrayed by Gianna but i still connected with her. With her fears, with her resistance. She is not against finding love, she just wants to find it on her own terms. And i think that speaks for itself. Of course, in the lifestyle of the mafia that's impossible that's why she runs away. And that's when we get a main girl that is as strong as they come. She runs away from Matteo and from her family. And honestly she would have managed to stay hidden from her family if Matteo had no been so adamant in getting her back. Because this girl is clever AF:
“God, no wonder Father didn't want us to be around men. Now that I knew how good kissing felt, I never wanted to stop doing it."
Matteo you just know he's going to be a badass. And a possessive jerk. And really cute. They all are. It's a trait they share. But he is not about to give up on the girl he wants so badly, the girl with the fiery red hair and personality. The one that can actually stand up and fight him the whole way.
When he finds her the book truly begins. There Gianna has to face everyone and she does it with grace and as much dignity as one can. Matteo even though he's mad protects her the whole way and that just made swoon HARDCORE:
When they are finally married and living the life, Gianna does not make it easy. She struggles the whole way, but Matteo has been just irresistible. He has a way of making the worst moments, funny and he took his relationship with her and turned it into something much better.

You have a lot of tension moments in this. It's not an easy to read book. The romance is just exceptional, the characters as well, but all the Mafia business underneath it make it a lot more serious. You also have a lot of action and there were times when I was just OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO in some scenes but it was good after all. It does have a Happy ending even though it does not seem to.
Whatever you do, don't give up on this book. Give it a change even though it seems like everything is lost and read it through. You are not going to regret it and it's going to be the ride of your life.
P.S You also have some Aria and Luca (my Bae) scenes with a lot of tension... Just warning you...
