Claire has a score to settle.
Unwilling mate to the brute who viciously conquered
her city, she has once again escaped from her Alpha. Hardened by betrayal, cold
as the ice outside the Dome, Claire becomes the mission. The Omegas must be
freed, no matter the cost.
The price on her head will not deter her; after all,
mated and subjugated her life no longer retains value. She can’t eat, she can’t
sleep, and she’s running out of time before the inevitable end.
For once, Shepherd finds himself facing an adversary
he cannot simply crush, the situation far out of his depth. Desperate to draw
his mate back, racked and restless, he is forced to acknowledge that his
pregnant Omega is willing to sacrifice her life for her false notion of a
greater good.
He holds the key to her compliance and his dying
mate’s survival—all he must do is give her exactly what she wants.
Review
So I just finished reading this a while ago and I could only start writing
this review now. Why? cause this book was an even' roller coaster... It was all
fine in one second and all destroyed in the other. Either by stupidity or the
fight for power. Honestly, if they could all just sit down and have a talk that
would have solved the whole book. Just kidding... I love drama. So if you're a
drama junkie like me, you are going to LOVE this one.
First things first...
Shepherd is kind of nice now. Even though the previous book didn't end very
well for him, he made up to us and to Claire by being a lot more bearable. He
actually realized that his feeling for Claire are true and not just related to
the bond and he is going to risk everything to get her back. Even if it means
killing everyone in his path... I loved it. Every page that we saw him without
Claire and wanting to find her was so exciting and it truly gave us an insight
on his mind. Also, this book explores his past much more that the other one. I
think that was really good cause i truly wanted to know more about him and my
doubts have been enlightned... Well, almost.
“Please don't tell me you kidnapped a barista," Claire groaned, sleepy, stretching forward to sniff. "The chef I kidnapped months ago to prepare your meals needed company." Claire could not tell if Shepherd was trying to make a joke. Scowling, she glanced up at the man still petting her elongated back and pursed her lips. From the look in his eyes it was clear the brute was absolutely serious.”
Claire... oh Claire. Be ready because Claire will go trough a lot in this
book. She is pregnant and on the run from Shepherd and she will trust the wrong
people and make strong allies as well. The thing is, you don't know which one
is a friend or foe... You're always wondering and trusting the wrong person and
that will cost her a lot of things. Also Shepherd thought it would be a good
idea to offer a reward for whoever finds her... He's an idiot.
The story itself has
Addison's signature and is fast paced, keeping us interested throughout the
whole book as always. The Plot keeps on getting better as well and it's so
interesting to see Claire and Shepherd interact whilst being apart.
One of my favorite
series at the moment. And the next book is bound to be awesome as well.
