The Distance Between us is awesomely Sweet, dead Funny, very Sarcastic, Real and very, very Addicting! I could not put this book down one second... It's THAT good :)

Caymen lives above the Doll store that she and her mom own in a tiny two bedroom apartment that may be small but means the world to her. She's good with being poor, she doesn't need fancy things to be happy and knows that the best things in life you have to work hard to get.

I loved Caymen and most important her sarcasm had me laughing the entire book nonstop. Seriously she can come up with the most out of place answers you have ever seen without even trying... This girl was spectacular, she was funny most of the times but she was also a lot more serious than a seventeen year old should be due to the pressure of handling the business so it doesn't have to close and helping her mother  not to go bankrupt.

"Note to self: Caymen is very good at sarcasm. "

"If you're recording notes for an official record, I'd like the word very stricken and replaced with exceptionally."

Xander is rich, cocky and takes it all for granted. His clothes, his fast car.... His family is one of the richest in the country and sometimes that comes with a price.  In storms Xander into an old store filled with creepy dolls looking to find a present for his grandma and the last thing he expected was the girl behind register that could bring a smile into his face very easily. And for a young man who has the world's weight on his shoulders with the family business that is a very hard thing to manage.

Xander is sweet. But sometimes a little on the clueless side of life. He is the usual "my family expects big things out of me and I don't know if that is what I really want" guy but with a certain twist, let's just say he is having anxiety problems about the future. But he was charming as well, funny and even a little on the dorky side sometimes. And he has excellent taste in cars (Just saying)...

When they realize that they can't get eachother off their heads Xanders decides to take the first step and go to the store and see that exquisite girl again. Then  after loads of previously-sipped-hot-chocolate, rides to the school and getting to know one another better they know that have one thing in common. Uncertainty about the future, a fear of what expected them and what their dream will be. Together they will try and figure that out  for eachother with a "career day" which consisted in trying out various careers and finding out what they like best. But this is also going to bring a proximity that Caymen is not comfortable with. After all, he is one of them...

"I love you," I whisper. 

"What was that? I didn't hear you. 

"Don't push me. "

"I love you, too" he says. He puts his cheek against mine. "So much."

These two together made the book into something adorable. They are complete opposites but are united in their uncertainty and the pressure their parents offer. So when they  and this two worlds get together is like a clash and they realize it's not going to be that easy. But I liked that both of them were one of the only ones that were stuck on not forgetting their social classes because everyone else seemed to accept it just fine. Asides Caymen's mother... Caymen worried too much that she was only a toy for him and he did not realised that and other signals until she threw it into his face and sometimes kind of forced her into his way of living, not realising she would not fit in with a bunch of spoiled rotten kids...

Then after a few bumps in the road here comes Mason, the local bad boy who had a eye from the start for Caymen... I did not liked Mason's involvement, he was too wrong for her. The one thing they had in common was the money status and even the fact the he was in a band did not do good things for my liking.

When Caymen and Xander solved the money problems between them and put it aside, their relationship could finally turn into something much more serious. But when her mom finds out and old suspicions come to the top it's difficult to continue. Besides that there is a sudden illness to her mother that brings another secret to life.

Caymen's mother was rather unfair for the whole book. Yes, she was left behind by a filthy rich guy that run with his tail between his legs that second he found out about a daughter, but that does not mean her daughter is her or that she is going down the same path. I think she does not give the deserved value to Caymen by often hiding things from her, even her father's whereabouts and not wanting any contact between them at all. Also, hiding debt collectors and even her grandparents is a little over the top!

"Feelings, my dear daughter, you will perhaps learn one day, can be the most costly thing in the universe. "

And that's the kind of attitude that is going to be the financial ruin of the store.

And then there is the oh so deserved happy ending... But i will not get there until the two of the most important character are mentioned: Henry and Skye, Thank you so much for your support and without you I think Caymen would not have stayed strong throughout all this drama. Also thanks to Caymen's grandparent for finally gaining courage to meet their granddaughter and support her :)

NOW it's the real happy ending.. So prejudice aside everyone's happy. Including me... <3
