Book Review:
All i know is that the first book was amazing and Saving Quinton just had to live up to the expectations... But, as it turned out it was even fucking better!! Jessica definitely outdid herself this time. My heart is still racing for the final word written. It's Heartbreaking. We all knew that Saving Quinton was not going to be an easy ride, but i wasn't expecting to be this painful to see our Quinton fading slowly...
In the previous book it was Nova that we saw spiraling down into oblivion because of pot and what got her out was Quinton's numerous attempts of telling her to leave that life. Now it's Quinton that without Nova and still with the guilt inside of him has given up on everything. Even his life. And i hate it.
This book is so raw... You see every single phase of the drugs and how they'll slowly destroy Quinton, Tristan and even Delilah. The dependence, the decay and all the dark secrets this world brings. It's sad. Even though you know it's bound to happen. It's literally a book that will drive you insane, mad and completely helpless.
I just adore Nova. Such a courageous girl that has been through the most painful things yet still never gives up on trying to save Quinton. NO matter if he tells her that he does not want to be helped and NO matter the trouble she'll get herself into. She's brave as fuck. And if we saw a junkie before, now she's healed and we see the tough girl she always was. Nova was the one thing that kept Tristan and Quinton of dying out on the streets. It was her that went looking for them. It was her that showed that she cared enough to keep returning. It was her that made their parents come to a good sense and help their kids... All of this whilst still dealing with her own problems. Without her this book would be lost.
I need to see him now. Need to look at him. Need to save him. Somehow.
Quinton is the worst case of them all. He still sees himself as guilty of his girlfriend's death and he blames himself for that every time he takes a hit or does a line. The whole book is his falling down and nearly death. I hated this book for that. Because the guy we loved and saw in the first book is completely gone now. He's empty and i just hope that the next book can help him more.
That’s how it should be. She should be away from me and this shitty mess that’s supposed to be a life, because I’m too much of a pussy to fully give up, die, finally just take that last step and end my life, instead of slowly doing it. Finally dose my body up with so many drugs that my heart will stop beating and for good this time, in the dark, where no one can save me.
I always loved Tristan and i always hated that Nova forgot about him when it came to helping. But we finally see something good for him because after lots of death threats and so many bad situations we see him get something good. He was always a character that was always hidden behind the main ones, but once he gets his time he's the best thing there is. I love him and i really want to see him with Nova.
Finally Saving Quinton proves us that their parents are not such scumbags after all. They may be a little but at least they're trying to redeem themselves a little bit.
I am completely in love with Jessica Sorensen... She's the BEST! Now i just have to find a way to wait for the next freaking book. Ugh.
