Book Review:
Older Brother best friend? High school crush and people filled with dark secrets? For a book with such a good blurb it was kind of bland and i feel it could have been much more than this. It didn't had me jumping with excitement but i don't hate it either. It's just Normal. Come to Me Quietly has a really simple story that will help you pass the time but the characters are really worth reading because they are SO well written...
The story of the high school best friends and all the crushes really made me not be able to stop reading the book because at the same time it showed us some of the episodes of their past as kids and why they liked each other. But i couldn't love this story because it's too surreal and focus too much on the whole cliché business.... And for the first few chapters that was okay but in the end it tired me so badly!
Aleena is a bland little perfect girl that used to be this awkward teen but now is a beautiful woman and then lots of words on how the guy loved her hair, and how she's so perfect and blah blah blah... See? Some of her attitudes are really what had me rolling my eyes every second and made me not pay attention to her throughout the rest of the story.
Jared is all about how he always loved his best friends' little sister, about what he did in the past (That we don't know until basically the end of the book) and how he can't have her because he will destroy her but then goes to bed with her. It's all very pretty but i feel like i've seen that somewhere else... SEVERAL TIMES! Besides he was putting himself down ALL THE TIME because of his past!!!! I was getting grumpy by just reading about it...
Christopher is annoying as hell and he should get his jealousy checked along with his big fat ego. I hated him and for a brother, man he could be a real jerk but he DID brought some bickering scenes to spice up the story...
I don't know if the problem is me but this book bugged me in the wrong way. I didn't get it and even eating chocolate at the same time i couldn't like it.
