A Blood Seduction (Vamp City 1#) by Pamela Palmer
December 03, 2012Take me down to Vampire City...
Vampires live only for lust and pleasure in the eternal twilight of Vamp City. But the city's magic is dying. The only person who can restore it? A beautiful woman from the mortal world...one who knows nothing of the power she wields.
Quinn Lennox is searching for a missing friend when she stumbles into a dark otherworld that only she can see—and finds herself at the mercy of Arturo Mazza, a dangerously handsome vampire whose wicked kiss will save her, enslave her, bewitch her, and betray her. What Arturo can't do is forget about her—any more than Quinn can control her own feelings for him. Neither one can let desire get in the way of their mission—his to save his people, hers to save herself. But there is no escape from desire in a city built for seduction, where passion flows hot and blood-red.
Welcome to Vamp City...
Quinn has a brother whom she loves above all even herself. When Lily, her brother's girlfriend, disappears they go looking for her ans step into Vamp City V.P. And the story starts...
Then both of them are lost from each other and then Quinn has to find her brother and then get the hell out. But how is she going to do that if she's full of her own problems? Mainly a vampire that just happens to buy her for a servant. And that this city doesn't do well with witches like her.
I really liked Arturo since the beginning. He is an enigmatic character who happens to lie exquisitely well. He goes from protecting Quinn to betray and give her to his master in a matter of seconds and though Quinn already expects it she still falls for it. She gives her trust to easily and just doesn't get that VAMPIRES ARE BAD!!
All the good things....
- The story enthralled me from the beginning, there isn't a dull moment in this book.
- The Villain changes loads of times during this story, is a spiral of events. And it's amazing how Pamela Palmer manages to write in a way that you never see it coming.
- There is more than action, more than plenty of blood and loads of terror and dark creatures.
-Arturo is so hot. And a sneaky man.
-This story introduces us to a different type of vampires who can feed on pain, pleasure, fear... so you don't get bored with just plain blood.
-The relationship between the characters seems real. Like Quin's and Max and Arturo's and his Master. All the emotions are felt and lived...
-The scenes are so realistic it's kind of bad sometimes. (in a good way)
Bad Things....
-Quinn missed way to many opportunities either to escape or just to kill someone. It passed the point of being stupid because she wasted them all.
-Nobody can be trusted and you can see that in the ending. The book is full of surprises...
-Arturo is Hot.
-Some actions are just plain stupid. She just needs to stop acting like the girl who needs help every turn of the way.
-She needs to understand that vampires need witches like her. And that they don't want eternal love.
The ending was mind blowing and so not expected. A perfect ending to a mischievous book. Definitely a wonderful book and Pamela Palmer just got a new fan.
