 5 STARS....

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

You already, by the synopsis, can see how the novel is going to go down. But what you don't expect is to fall for every single personage in the story.

We have Bianca a leading feminist that strongly believes in not judging others (asides Wesley) and being the perfect friend. She doesn't drink and she doesn't screw everything that moves.

"Okay. I know, I know. I think PDA is gross and immature, but come on. I was a little too distracted to care who might be watching. So, yeah, I put my usual values aside for a second and wrapped my arms around his neck. I mean, I could always go back to my crusade against public make-outs in the morning."

She is surrounded by two friends that will make her life hell, in a good way, they are awesome Casey and Jessica are the two very hot friends. Casey is tall, blonde and beautiful and Jessica is the curvy bubbly blond one.

"Jessica hated negativity. Hated it so much, in fact, that she wouldn't even say she hated it. That would have been too negative."

They are perfect in Bianca standards and in storm Wesley. He thinks that by pretending to be nice to Her "The Duff" He can get into one of her friends pants Oh he is so very wrong and due to that he will begin a journey of a love hate relationship with Bianca.

They both have troubles thought they don't want to show it off, Bianca is going trough her parents divorce and her dad drinking problems and Wesley, apparently perfect guy, is going ignored by his parents. They connect in a level that they do not expect. It all started as Bianca Using Wesley to forget a long lost Boyfriend back in town, will she be getting anew boyfriend soon?

Wesley doesn't do Girlfriends, he does one night stands and maybe an hot affair and that just about it.  and that's what is expected of him, what people don't realize is that he is a person and he has feelings. and he has that crooked grin.....

So you will see the dynamic these two will provoke together.

"Despite my best efforts, I smiled. He wasn't perfect, or even remotely close, for that matter, but, hey, neither was I. We were both pretty fucked up. Somehow, though, that made everything more exciting. Yeah, it was sick and twisted, but that’s reality, right? Escape is impossible, so why not embrace it?"

The book widens and discuss the need of the society to be perfect, to be thin and model looking. The Duff. But everyone is the duff at least once in they're life... and you have to see being the duff can also be a good thing...

"That was something we all had in common. We were all sluts or bitches or prudes or Duffs. I was the Duff. And that was a good thing. Because anyone who didn't feel like the Duff must not have friends. Every girl feels unattractive sometimes. Why had it taken me so long to figure that out? Why had I been stressing over that dumb word for so long when it was so simple? I should be proud to be the Duff. Proud to have great friends who, in their minds, were my Duffs."

The book is really insightful and great in a simplistic way. I didn't know who was Kody Keplinger but for now on i will keep in mind her name....
